No more pity parties for this girl.
Sorry for all the emo recently.
Moving to a new city is hard, real life sometimes sucks, and being an adult isn’t quite as easy or as fun as I’d always imagined. (Duh, duh and duh.) Yesterday I hit one of those unexpected bumps that seem to come out of nowhere. One second I was fine, the next second, I’d been sideswiped and was lying on the couch eating ice cream, crying and...

Things I am looking forward to:
Fall weather, my upcoming trip to San Francisco, finally having my very own car (!), a week of healthy healthier eating [anything is healthier than what I’ve been eating], wearing brand new clothes, baking something delicious (perhaps these cheddar biscuits (like I said, anything is healthier)), paychecks, and finally…quality sleep tonight.

Dear East Coast,
Please tell Irene I say hello. Sorta wish I was part of the excitement.

Adult things...
There are a few things I realized this week as I navigated my way through my new, grown-up [still somewhat surreal] life.
First, heels are overrated. For a hot second, I told myself I was going to dress all office-cute, all the time, wear heels often (remember when I bought 7 pairs of shoes all at one time?), accessorize every day, etc. After about 2 days of that supposed fun, I realized why I...
PSA
Did you know that regular vanilla Coffee Mate has things in it like partially hydrogenated oil, cellulose gel and added color? Yea, me neither.
But the good news is that they make a ‘Natural Bliss’ version without all that jazz. It’s delish, too!
Ps- I’m not really the organic-care what you eat-au natural type of person. I eat plenty of junk, but I do so knowingly....

What I've learned recently:
Pittsburgh buses are a bad choice. [Technically, so are buses everywhere else.]
To stop new leather heels from squeaking, put a little lotion on your feet. Fun/gross/random fact of the day. But it just may come in handy for you one day!
Hump day is SO much more exciting when there is a real hump to get over. Technically, my “real” jobs post-college and pre-law school...
Just got earth quaked.

“Your first year as a lawyer will be one of the most stressful you will ever face.
No, that’s not quite right. Your first year as a lawyer will be the most stressful you will ever face. Even your first year in law school won’t quite compare, because there, at least, you were your own taskmaster. You could in some small way control the day-to-day goings-on in your frantic...

More on the skunk:
Sniffy, your name is slightly deceptive if you supposedly are “descented.”
Thanks for clarifying that she has the typical black and white coat. I definitely would have noticed if it had been a slightly atypical black and white coat.
THERE ARE NO CERTIFIED VACCINES FOR SKUNKS. Got it? Good.
Okay, so she won’t spray me, but she’ll pretend she might. Why would I take...

The Pittsburgh Left
I learned the other day about “Pittsburgh Lefts.” Apparently, when you want to make a left turn, you can sorta just go ahead and turn left, even if vehicles are coming towards you, ready to t-bone you. You know how, everywhere else, you wait until the light turns yellow and then turn left right before it’s red? Well, here, you can turn first thing when it’s green,...
